It was the tiniest thing I ever decided to put my whole life into.
– Terri Guillemets
The nine-month wait is over! Sydnee Elise finally came to us, wrapped with love and joy, on the 5th of September 2013.
That warm and sunny Thursday morning, I geared myself on the way to Bangkok Mission Hospital and anticipate the coming of my little angel. Although in my heart I had the scariest feeling as how the operation would go that day, I need to be strong, no one else could make me stronger than myself for my sake and my daughter’s. I needed to undergo a C-section operation due to placenta previa, which from my readings is dangerous but I lift everything up to the Lord and only think of the most joyful thing—Sydnee will be with us on that same day!
The joy we felt that day was incomparable! We finally got to see and hold her at 1:45 in the afternoon!
Name meaning and why we chose it:
Yes, that’s it!
I first saw Sydney as a girl’s name in Alias, the American spy TV series and inspired by the name Sydney Bristow, a role performed by Jennifer Garner! I changed the spelling to Sydnee and add Elise as second name, hence Sydnee Elise!
Sydnee \s(y)- dnee, syd-nee\ as a girl’s name is a variant of Sydney (Old English), and the meaning of Sydnee is “wide island” or “wide meadow”.
It is of French origin. The meaning of the name Sydnee is contraction of St. Denys.
Elise \e-li-se\ as a girl’s name is a variant of Elisa (Hebrew), Elizabeth (Hebrew) and Elysia (Latin)
and the meaning of Elise is “God’s promise; God is my oath”.
